Last year I decided that I’d temporarily forgotten why tertiary study was quite the time consumer, so in a fit of hubris, signed up for the my masters in data science.
Of course it’s been fun, and there are elements which are non-obvious but high-impact – in that you really do learn as you go, such that you can apply what you’re leaning to things at work the next day. I just wish I had more time to devote to it. Anyways, here is what I realised early on, which to me boils down much of the initial teachings about the initial topic of Data Visualisation (and with thanks to Munzner 2014, and Knaflic 2015).
